Curriculum

GEMS Wellington Academy Dubai Silicon Oasis (WSO) provides a rich and varied curriculum, beginning with the Reggio Emilia approach in Nursery and moving to the National Curriculum for England from Foundation Stage to Year 11. In Key Stage 4, students have options including GCSE, IGCSE, and BTEC qualifications. Post-16 students choose between A Levels, the IB Diploma, or the IB Career-related Programme. WSO’s unique ‘Fifth Strand’ allows a combination of A Level, BTEC, and IB courses. The school is a GEMS Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts and Sports, offering specialized programs in music, theatre, and elite sports, along with over 90 extracurricular activities.

The Academy is also notable for its innovative Projects 4Change, which integrates environmental and social awareness through hands-on learning linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, providing students with a global perspective. WSO has earned recognition as the first ‘Unified Champion School’ in the UAE by Special Olympics UAE, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
